Gun violence has been a rising problem in the US and it has reached all parts of the country. It has been a major problem in the US and has gotten worse and worse over the years. It has become easier and easier to get guns that civilians should not be able to have. Nobody needs an AR-15 in their day-to-day life. People are allowed to get a gun when they turn 18 ,which is way too young, and there are not thorough enough background checks on the people trying to get these weapons. In the form you have to fill out for when you go in to purchase a firearm-if you purchase a gun online you don't need to fill out a form. Adil M, in his article for "Times Now", said, "According to the FBI website, it has made more than $104,824,000 ,such checks in the last decade and denied only $733,694.50 the opportunity to buy guns. Therefore, less than 1 per cent chance of getting a gun purchase denied. The price of a gun, as of 2022, starts from as low as $150 in the United States." This shows how these gun companies are profiting off the demise of others. We need more thorough background checks and stricter gun laws to keep our citizens safe and protected.

According to the Gun Violence Archive, there have now been about 254 mass shootings in 2022 alone.

The Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA), which regulates firearms at the federal level, requires that citizens and legal residents must be at least 18 years of age to purchase shotguns or rifles and ammunition. All other firearms — handguns, for example — can only be sold to people 21 and older. - that makes it so much better
